Yvonne Joyce Craig

Yvonne Joyce Craig (May 16, 1937 - August 17 in 2015) was an American actress and ballet dancer famous for her part as Batgirl in the 1960s' television series Batman and as the green-skinned Orion slave girl Marta in the Star Trek episode "Whom Gods Destroy" (1969). The Huffington Post called her "a pioneer in female superheroes that were adapted for television." Yvonne Craig was raised in Columbus and was born in Taylorville in Illinois. Her family moved to Dallas in 1951. She attended W. H. Adamson High School, Sunset High School and then W. H. Adamson High School. However, she was not able to graduate as she didn't have "one credits for PE". Craig was a part of Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo as the young ballerina from the youngest corps after being recognized by Alexandra Danilova who is a dancer and instructor.
