Gillian MacLaren Jacobs

Gillian MacLaren Jacobs born October 19th, 1982 is an American actress. Her most famous work is her role as Britta Perry on the NBC comedy series Community (2009-2015), Mickey Dobbs on the Netflix romantic comedy series Love (2016-2018) as well as Atom Eve on the Amazon animated series Invincible (2021). Mimi-Rose is her most frequent role in the fourth season of the HBO comedy-drama Girls (2012-2017). She has also been seen in films like Life Partners (2014), Hot Tub Time Machine 2 (2015) and Don't Think Twice (2016). Gillian MacLaren Jacobs was conceived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 19, 1982. Martina Magenau Jacobs is her mother. She is employed at Carnegie Mellon University in alumni relations. Her father, William F. Jacobs Jr. was an investment banker. Her father, William F. Jacobs Jr. died in 2013. She was born in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Her family owned the Erie Brewing Company (not to be confused with the later brewery of the identical name) and her father, John Martin Magenau Jr., served as CEO and president until the brewery closed in 1978.Jacobs began her acting studies at the age of 4 and took acting classes on weekends at the Pittsburgh Playhouse while growing up. She performed frequently at the Pittsburgh Public Theater. There she won the public's Shakespeare Monologue Contest. That was the catalyst for her participation in Titania in the production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. After graduating from Mt. In 2000, she graduated from Lebanon High School. She then moved to New York City for the Juilliard School. There, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2004.
