Maureen O'Hara Biography

Maureen O'Hara was a renowned American performer and actress from Irish descent. The fiery, passionate role she played in several American films attracted attention to the beautiful green eyed beauty. Her attractive look and natural beauty was well-loved. Her name was renowned in Hollywood as the "Queen of Technicolor". The roles she played on screen were a reflection of her brave, strong character. She fought for respect and survival within the male-dominated world. She always described herself as the "tough Irish lass" who will never sacrifice her respect and reputation to be able to play the roles she deserved due to merit. She was an ardent advocate for female actors on television and in films, and gained many followers because of it. The autobiography of her, "Tis Herself", was released in 2004. The book was an honest and candid description of her life, as well as the challenges she had to face in her climb to success. She was an adventurous lady who wasn't afraid of performing herself stunts. Over the years she was in over 60 films and gained an enormous amount of fame throughout the world. Following her departure from Parra She remarried in the year 1968 to Charles F. Blair Jr. who was a brigadier in the past, former chief pilot, and a pioneer in transatlantic aviationto mention several accomplishments. O'Hara went on to retire a few years after they got married. But her joy was fleeting because Blair passed away in a tragic plane crash in 1978. She was diagnosed with uterine cancer the same year and underwent an immediate procedure. She was able to recover. Her health deteriorated in the course of time and she was diagnosed with heart attacks that caused six and short-term memory loss, and diabetes mellitus type 2. O'Hara who was 95 years old, passed away peacefully in Boise on the 24th of October, 2015.
