Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a ex-chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef featuring her distinctive spiky blond locks and pumped up appearance, offers the simplest techniques that anyone could grasp. Chef Burrell was also employed in several of the city's most prestigious restaurant chains, delved into Italian cuisine and the traditions associated with it, and took part in Food Network Iron Chef America. While growing up in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell was able to discover a love of culinary arts and food at the age of a child. After obtaining an English and Communications degree at Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her interest in the world of food and restaurant management by enrolled as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. She says "I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every day." It was impossible to study or learn enough. After graduating, Chef Burrell went on to spend one year in Italy participating in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. Through her stay in Italy she came to comprehend and appreciate the philosophy of Italian cuisine and culture which made a lasting impression on her culinary viewpoint. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to brighten the lives of children facing difficulties. She is also a Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador where she advocates for the awareness of juvenile diabetes. In her role as a speaker, Burrell makes trips across the country to share her passion for food and her culinary career. Through her culinary adventures, Anne has often said that I am very fortunate to share my true passion for life with people.
