Katey Sagal
An extremely gifted multifaceted
performer who excels in both drama and comedy, actress/singer Katey Sagal
became a household name in the 1980s as the fabulously brazen, undomesticated
Peg Bundy in the long-running Fox series Married... with Children (1987).
During the long run of the show she was nominated two times for American Comedy
Award and three Golden Globes. Peg Bundy was as popular and popular as Katey as
she continued to star in television sitcoms. Katey also played roles that were
completely opposite of the role that first caught her national attention. In
2008, for instance, she played the character of Gemma Teller Morrow, the
matriarch of the Hell'sAngels-like California biker gang in the show Sons of
Anarchy (2008), and in 2011 her portrayal earned her a Golden Globe Award for
Best Performance by an Actress in the Television Series--Drama. Catherine
Louise Sagal is the daughter of Sara Zwilling (director and singer) and Boris
Sagal (film and television director). Los Angeles native, Catherine Louise
Sagal began performing at the age of five. She then studied acting and voice at
the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia. As a waitress who sang during
her "salad" times She began performing with the band "The Group
Without a name," then caught a break after hooking up with Gene Simmons
and his 1970s rock group KISS. While she was there, she gained valuable
experience as a backup recording singer for Simmons and other well-known stars
such as Bob Dylan, Olivia Newton-John, Etta James, and Tanya Tucker. When Bette
performed her avant-garde stage productions in the late 1970s and early 80s she
was a dynamic performer as a live performer with Bette Midler.
