Milena Govich
Milena Govich is a writer, director
actress, musician, and actor who has helmed many episodes of TV which include
The Equalizer (2021), Chicago Med (2015), FBI: Most Wanted (2020), Chicago Fire
(2012) and Chicago Fire (2012), among others. She also served as the
Co-EP/Producing Director on Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018), and is currently
directing two pilots that are in development. Milena was among eight filmmakers
chosen by AFI's prestigious Directing Workshop for Women, in addition to the
exclusive Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors Program. The short film
she made and the TV series proof of concept called Unspeakable which starred
Laura Vandervoort and Jeff Kober It saw its World premiere at SXSW and won the
Best Episodic Award at the Seattle International Film Festival and Best Pilot
at SoHo International Film Festival. The film, Temporary, she produced (2017)
was screened across the United States. She was awarded Best Narrative Short at
Anthem Film Festival. Best Dark Comedy Award at Atlanta ShortsFest. The
Director's Choice Award from Sedona International Film Festival. As an actor
Milena has been featured in more than 100 shows of television. She first gained
national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the
prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis
Leary/FX). Conviction (2006) was her debut on CBS. She then became the first
and only female detective on Law & Order (1990). She has appeared or
recurred on numerous other showslike K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010)
(CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) as well as in the role of Lori
Stevens on the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena has also appeared in
many films, such as Sordid Things (2009); A Novel Romance (2011) in which she starred
opposite Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) The #Lucky Number (2015),
starring alongside Method Man; and the film series Closure (2018), Be the Light
(2020), and The Cleaner (2021). Milena, a native of Norman, Oklahoma was the
valedictorian of her high school, before she graduated with two major vocal
performances and premed at the University of Central Oklahoma. She also
graduated as valedictorian. Then she benefited from her ballet education to
make an appearance on Broadway in the Rob Marshall/Sam Mendes production of
"Cabaret" at Studio 54.
