Renee Kathleen Zellweger
Renee Kathleen Zellweger was born on the
25th of April 1969 in Katy, Texas, Her mother Kjellfridirene (Andreassen) is a
nurse born in Norway, former and midwife, of Norwegian, Kven (Finnish) and
Swedish descent. Emil Erich Zellweger is her father. He is a Swiss engineer.
They were married in the year 1963. Drew Zellweger is Renee's brother, and he
was born on February 15, 1967. Renee became interested in acting during high
school when she was a member of the drama club. She took an acting course at
University of Texas (Austin) and began to think about acting as a profession.
She had a strong desire to become an actor after graduation, but Hollywood can
be hard to get into. Renee decided not to quit Texas and went to audition at
Houston for roles. Matthew McConaughey was another Hollywood newcomer she met
filming Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2: The Next Generation (1994). Renee was able
to observe him working on a project which interested her. She auditioned for
and was offered the role in Love and A.45 (1994). The film earned her enough
critical praise and a decision to move to Los Angeles. Her breakthrough came
from another role in The Whole Wide World (1996). Cameron Crowe was busy
casting his next film Jerry Maguire (1996),starring Tom Cruise. Crowe was taking
a look at actresses like Bridget Fonda and Marisa Tomei when the performance of
Zellweger on The Whole Wide World (1996). The audition was conducted by
Zellweger to confirm that he was his Dorothy Boyd. Renee then followed her
enormous success with a few small independent films. After receiving further
critical praise, she felt confident enough to reenter the realm of large-budget
Hollywood films. Meryl Streep was a co-star in One True Thing (1998). She also
starred alongside Jim Carrey in Me, Myself & Irene (2000) and began
dating Carrey soon afterward. as the lead in Bridget Jones's Diary (2001).
