Los Angeles in 1970. Soon after the birth of her daughter, her parents moved to
Dallas, Texas. She was educated at Booker T. Washington High School for the
Performing and Visual Arts located in the Arts District of downtown Dallas.
Then, she received an BFA degree in acting from Stephens College and also
studied at the British American Drama Academy. She was employed for six years
by Dallas Theatre Center as well as one year at Encore Company. Before making
her screen debut, she began her acting career at the theater. Her stage credits
in theater include productions like "As You like It", "A Funny
Thing occurred on the way to the Forum", "Measure for Measure",
"Baby" and "Chicago", among many others. She was an
outstanding performer in Michael Cristofer's HBO telefilm Gia (1998), where she
was opposite Angelina Jolie. This performance has made her a favourite of
viewers and critics alike. Her charismatic acting skills were evident in the
sci-fi adventure Frequency (2000) that was starring Dennis Quaid and Neil
LaBute. Elizabeth Mitchell is an actor with numerous credits, which include TV
series, movies and theatres. During the filming of Frequency (2000), she broke
her nose. In 1994, did Hertz Rent-A-Car commercial but "they pulled it due
to the O.J. thing." In 1995, lived with boyfriend David Lee Smith
(ex-Brent on the soap One Life to Live (1968)) in Manhattan's Upper West Side.
Parents are real estate and tax attorneys with their own firm located 5 blocks
away from their home in Dallas. They returned to the U.S. from Europe after an
extended run as Rosalind in a theater production "As You Like It".

1 TV in March 2002.
