Alexa Davalos Bio

Alexa Davalos Dunas, born May 28th, 1982 was an American actress. Gwen Raiden was her first role on the TV series Angel (2002-03). The character was followed by a number of Hollywood films like Feast of Love (2007) and Feast of Love (2008). Reunion (2006) as well as Frank Darabont's Mob City (2013) also featured her. She played Juliana Crain, the main character in the Amazon Studios series The Man in the High Castle (2015-2019). Davalos was the daughter of actor Richard Davalos and Elyssa Davalos. She was born in France to American parents Jeff Dunas, a photographer and Elyssa Davalos, an actor. Davalos was raised in France, Italy and New York. Davalos has said "I often curse in French more often than in English." On the side of her mother she is of Finnish and Spanish descent. Her name as a family member is written as "Davalos" in Spanish, with an accent on the first "a". Her father's family is Jewish (her paternal ancestors resided in Vilnius in Lithuania). She was raised "without any religion" although she did attend Hebrew school for a period of time. Davalos relocated to New York City on her own when she was seventeen years old. Davalos made a living by modeling for Peter Lindbergh photographers. She says, "I had a purpose." "I was looking to be out on the streets doing what I wanted to do. While working in a theatre, I discovered that I wanted to act." It was then that my passion turned to acting, and she attended the Off-Broadway Flea Theater in New York
