21 Savage Bio

21 Savage was born Shayaa Bin Abraham-Joseph on the 22nd of October 22, 1992 , in Dominica an island located situated in the Caribbean. He spent his teenage years in Dacatur an area that was unreachable located in East Atlanta, Georgia, after his family moved to America. He was used to violence and crime and was an petty criminal within his "21" gang. They would rob and hustle on the streets. He started dealing with substances when he was just 14. He was arrested multiple times for drug possession. At 19, 21 Savage was already a father of two. Savage was killed by two assailants during a drug deal that became an attempted robbery when he was 21. In the course of the assault, he lost a close friend and brother. In tribute to his brother his dagger was tattooed between the eyes. 21 Savage was able to see that he was bored of being a thugs following the horrific incident. He turned to hip-hop to escape his life on the streets. He started investing the money he had earned from the streets and recording at the renowned Patchwerk Studios. Reflecting on his dark life while creating music, he quickly caught the attention of record producer Metro Boomin. On the 25th of May, 2015, 21 Savage released his first mixtape entitled "The Slaughter Tape". In less than two months from the release of "The Slaughter Tape" the rapper released his "Free Guwop EP" in tribute to his friend and fellow rapper Gucci Mane.
